One of my dreams just came true - I got to perform in a Motown tribute concert! I was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, right on the border of Detroit. I grew up listening to Detroit radio and all the Motown hits. I didn't realize fully until I was much older just how big of an impact this would have on my music.
Needless to say, when my friend Derek Conyer invited me to sing as one of the Supremes in the Motown Xperience show, I didn't even hesitate. I was already excited about the style, and when I heard about the lineup of musicians in the band, I was sold. The concert was to take place at Fasching, one of my favourite Stockholm venues, and I'd be sharing the stage with all kinds of talent, from amazing up-and-coming artists to seasoned Motown masters, like drummer James Bradley Jr.
From the moment I arrived I was on a musical high. The band was incredible, and the crowd was tons of fun. This was also my last gig in Stockholm before leaving the Nordics, and I couldn't have asked for a better goodbye. This is a night I will always remember, and I can't wait until we get to do this again!
