Recording for the new album has begun!
This summer I headed back to my favourite New York studio, Systems Two, and recorded eight brand new songs. It was great to work again with producer Adam Rhodes and sound engineer Rich Lamb, as well as some talented new friends Alex Hayes on bass and Bruno Esrubilsky on drums!
The latest songs have a stronger influence from my border city roots with lots of Detroit-style sounds. We recorded some Soul ballads as well as some new tunes with Motown-inspired and Neo-Soul grooves. We had a great time in the studio too - these guys are awesome!
So now we're onto production. Next up we'll be adding some horns and electric guitar! :) It won't be long until the new single is released, so stay tuned!
